Psihoselect is conducting the recruitment process for a well-established company operating in the industrial manufacturing sector for the position of:
PRODUCTION ENGINEERING COORDINATOR
Location: Cluj Napoca
Role: The role is responsible for ensuring efficient and reliable daily operations within the production area, coordinating teams and technical processes to meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations. The Production Engineering Coordinator drives continuous improvement, ensures equipment reliability, supports workflow planning, and fosters a safe and compliant work environment. The position plays a key role in optimizing production processes and supporting the company’s operational development during a period of growth.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate and oversee daily activities in Production, Maintenance, and Programming/Scheduling, ensuring alignment with delivery targets and operational plans;
- Ensure on-time, high-quality, and cost-effective production according to customer and internal requirements;
- Monitor and optimize process flows, resource allocation, and production capacities to increase efficiency;
- Ensure that equipment, tools, and machinery are properly maintained in collaboration with the maintenance function;
- Implement and sustain workplace organization and process standards (e.g., 5S, visual management);
- Support the development and execution of production plans, adjusting according to priorities and constraints;
- Promote and enforce compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) regulations;
- Identify improvement opportunities and lead process optimization, cost reduction, and workflow enhancement initiatives;
- Apply structured project management methods to support operational improvement projects;
- Track operational KPIs and implement action plans for deviation correction and performance improvement;
- Contribute to the development of technical and organizational procedures, ensuring standardization and reliability;
- Lead, develop, and motivate production team members, ensuring clear communication and performance alignment;
- Support training and capability-building activities to enhance team technical skills;
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety awareness, and continuous improvement;
- Provide operational input for budgeting, investment planning, and resource needs;
- Prepare progress and performance reports for senior leadership and shareholders.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or similar technical fields);
- 7+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with demonstrated involvement in operations, technical processes, or department coordination;
- Experience working with metal fabrication, machining, or metal processing environments is considered a strong advantage;
- Experience in leading teams or coordinating cross-functional activities (team lead, supervisor, project manager, process engineer, or similar role);
- Strong understanding of production workflows, machinery, and continuous improvement tools;
- Practical knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, 5S, or other operational excellence methodologies is an advantage;
- Solid planning, analytical, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities;
- Hands-on and proactive manager with a results-oriented and improvement-driven mindset;
- Strong communication skills in Romanian and English;
- Experience working with ERP systems related to production planning and reporting;
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and operational discipline.
