Psihoselect is recruiting for a partner company known for telecom network rollout for the following position:

GROUP SENIOR DESIGN OFFICER – TELECOM INFRASTRUCTURE

Location: Bucharest

Role: The Group Senior Design Officer – Telecom Infrastructure will work as an integral part of a project team, be involved in one or more projects during all phases until completion, interface with both internal and external clients, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams. The position will entail working on a variety of structural evaluation, repair, and design projects, with focus on telecommunication projects/towers.

Essential Functions:

Supervises technical telecommunication projects located throughout the Group;
Coordinate structural, and mechanical designs projects and determine the best solutions and plans;
Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on the project designs;
Coordinate the team in drawing using cross-sections and surveys, to represent elevations, topographical contours, subsurface formations, and structures;
Draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings, and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data;
Correlate, interpret, and modify data obtained from topographical surveys, well logs, and geophysical prospecting reports;
Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to lists of materials;
Determine procedures and instructions to be followed, according to design specifications and quantity of required materials;
Explain drawings to production or construction teams and provide adjustments as necessary;
Determine quality, cost, strength, and quantity of required materials, and enter figures on materials lists;
Calculate weights, volumes, and stress factors and their implications for technical aspects of designs projects;
Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data to ensure that they conform to design concepts;
Check the projects made by the team members before they are sent to the beneficiary;
Is involved in research and development activity aimed at expanding and optimizing the metal structures;
Carries out the foundation calculations in case of new construction of pillars;
Check similar previous projects to identify the particularities of the area in which the construction is to be executed;
Makes the calculation notes for the foundation and for the metal structure in case there are no more works in the respective area;
Check the calculation of metal structures to support new or existing antennas (pillars, braced masts or atypical structures);
Transposes metal structure calculations into foundation plans;
Provides technical assistance to customer representatives;
Identify together with the Suppliers the best partners for the execution of metal fabrication;
Collaborate with all the departments from the Group;
Provides reports to the general management being part of the Group roles.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:

At least 5 years of experience in structural project design, knowledge in telecom technologies and deployment represents an advantage;
+2 years’ experience in coordinating a team in technical project;
A successful university degree with focus on Telecommunications Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical or similar;
Ability to build strong relations with internal and external partners to support infrastructure deployment and solid communication skills;
Broad knowledge of structural engineering, drawing production skills, working knowledge of AutoCAD and structural modeling software;
Conversational English and French knowledge;
Strong organizational skills: ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functioning in a fast-paced environment;
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively;
Self-motivated, self-starter, able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests as well as collaborate with others to utilize resources and knowledge in identifying high quality solutions;
Proficient to advanced skill with computer software programs, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
