Psihoselect is recruiting for a multinational partner company, specialized in production for the following position:
GENERAL MANAGER
Location – ROMANIA
Role: It has the primary responsibility for the leadership, strategic and management direction and business results of the company. Working in conjunction with HQ from Germany, and the management team form Romania, the GM ensures that the Company establishes appropriate goals, and manages its resources to meet these goals.
Essential Functions:
- The GM responsible for developing a long-term, sound strategy for the company that is intended to increase the value as well as meeting the needs of customers, employees and other stakeholders;
- The GM puts in place processes that encourage effective strategic planning. The HQ shall annually approve the company’s strategic plan;
- The GM drives and improves effective and efficient collaboration between the Romanian office and the German Headquarter, in order to establish a sustainable operating model;
- Ensures that company strategies are effectively implemented with timely progress towards strategic objectives, including short-term and long-term growth and profitability objectives;
- The GM obtains and allocates resources consistent with strategic objectives and makes timely adjustments in strategies when market conditions and other forces, including the competitive environment, demand a change;
- Is responsible to carry out a comprehensive budgeting process and monitor the company’s performance against the budget;
- Identifies and communicates risks and opportunities to the HQ and deals with them appropriately;
- Ensures that the company has appropriate auditing and financial control processes in place to protect assets;
- Maintains effective control of operations and provides accurate and complete disclosure of results that fairly represents the company’s business, financial condition, and production;
- Exercises an appropriate level of leadership for the organization, manages the culture and builds a team atmosphere;
- Effectively communicates a vision, management philosophy, and business strategy to the company’s employees, as well as other internal and external stakeholders;
- Manages technical execution of key issues;
- Resolves and removes intercountry and intercultural barriers to enable efficient and effective collaboration;
- Manages budgets, headcount, and vendors in coordination with the German Headquarter;
- Responsible for day-to-day operations of the entity;
- Ensures proper implementation of organizations services, such as legal, finance, compliance, security, human resources etc. in coordination with HQ;
- Establishes and maintains effective supplier management and manufacturing systems for prototype and production systems;
- Drives commercial arrangements for the location with third party suppliers as needed to ensure technical and competitive advantages;
- Actively seeks to recruit and retain competent employees and to motivate and inspire such employees to adopt the company’s values and to realize the company’s vision;
- Ensures that there is clarity of objectives and focus for all employees and that there are clear and appropriate standards and measures of performance;
- The GM is visible and proactive in representing the company to customers, investors, local community, authorities and other stakeholders;
- Fosters a culture of ethical behavior for the company, promotes compliance with the company’s code of business and proactively ensures that the company complies with all its legal, accounting, ethical, moral and social responsibility obligations;
- Collaborates with the HQ team, HR Group function and local management team in its process to conduct a performance review considering the company’s strategies and corporate objectives and implementation thereof;
- Oversees the compensation, performance assessment, leadership, talent development and succession planning of senior management;
- Develops suitable programmatic and governance structures;
- Streamlines engagement models at the plant;
- Evaluates and removes bottlenecks and barriers to efficient cooperation;
- Implements or oversees environmental management or sustainability programs addressing issues such as recycling, conservation, and waste management.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:
- +5 years relevant working experience a senior management position including experience in a leadership position in production companies is essential;
- +3-year previous experience in a General Manager role is mandatory;
- Relevant background in production type companies in multinational environment;
- Bachelor’s degree in technical or related fields;
- Fluent in English, both orally and in writing, German language is an advantage;
- Very good working knowledge with budget and financial indicators;
- Very good working knowledge of manufacturing/procurement/supply chain processes and technical aspects;
- Good ERP Systems knowledge, MS Office package;
- Excellent leadership and management skills;
- Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members;
- Support encourage and develop team and take ownership for team;
- Positive result driven and hands on attitude;
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
