Group Financial Controller

Psihoselect is managing the recruitment process on behalf of a partner company, a leading player in the Romanian recycling and circular economy sector, for the position of:

GROUP SENIOR FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Location: Bucharest – hybrid work model

 

Role: Group Senior Financial Controller as an analytically driven, and team-oriented senior professional reporting directly to the Deputy Group CFO, this role sits at the center of the Group’s financial management and plays a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting across all entities. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for leading the regular management reporting and forecasting processes, while cooperating closely with the finance teams of all Group companies.

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Group Management Reporting
  • Prepare the monthly management reporting package at Group level (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow)
  • Ensure full reconciliation of management reports with accounting results
  • Ensure compliance of each company’s reporting package with Group reporting policies and standards
  1. Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Planning
  • Lead the preparation of the yearly consolidated budgets in cooperation with local finance teams
  • Coordinate monthly forecast updates across P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
  • Contribute to the preparation of Group strategic business plans
  1. Financial Analysis & Performance Management
  • Analyse and interpret financial results, identifying risks and opportunities for the business
  • Produce KPI reporting, working capital analysis (receivables, payables, inventories), and cash flow reports
  • Perform variance analysis with business-context explanations, propose and follow up on corrective actions
  • Maintain a constant analytical dialogue with local finance teams and senior management
  1. Accounting Accuracy & Policy Compliance
  • Conduct periodic reviews of trial balances across Group entities to ensure accounting accuracy
  • Enforce consistent application of accounting policies across all subsidiaries
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of Group Financial Policies and Procedures
  1. Audit & External Reporting Support
  • Support the external audit process (Big 4), including preparation of required analyses and documentation
  • Assist with funding and financing projects — data preparation, scenario comparison, option assessment
  1. Cross-functional Contribution
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as required by management
  • Provide financial assistance (controlling and accounting) for strategic and operational initiatives
  • Support the implementation of Corporate Policies across the Group

 

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:

Professional Qualifications

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • ACCA or CIMA membership or active studentship — strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant financial controlling experience, ideally within a manufacturing business
  • Demonstrated expertise in costing, budgeting, financial forecasting, and long-term planning

Technical Skills

  • Solid working knowledge of IFRS and the preparation of consolidated financial statements (P&L, B/S, CF)
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems, BI tools, and financial/management reporting platforms
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Communication & Language

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to convey complex financial topics clearly
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required
