FIELD SALES ENGINEER
Location: Cluj/ Mureș/ Alba/ Bistrița‑Năsăud Counties
Role: Field Sales Engineer serves as the primary technical and commercial ambassador for a global leader in high-precision industrial sensor and automation technology. This role is designed for a professional who views sales through the lens of engineering, someone who doesn’t just sell components, but designs the “nervous system” of industrial processes. Acting as a strategic consultant, leveraging a comprehensive portfolio that spans from individual sensors to sophisticated, cloud-ready automation ecosystems. The core mission involves transforming complex technical challenges into seamless, integrated systems while fostering high-level professional partnerships that drive long-term industrial efficiency.
Essential Functions:
- Provide technical consulting and develop tailored solutions in the field of sensor and automation technology for customer-specific projects;
- Maintain, expand, and strengthen existing customer relationships through regular on-site visits and dedicated personal support;
- Active acquisition of new customers to broaden the customer base and tap into emerging market potentials;
- Present the comprehensive product portfolio at customer sites, industry events, and trade fairs to build brand authority;
- Execute continuous market and competitor analysis to identify trends and capitalize on business opportunities;
- Collaborate closely with the internal sales team to ensure seamless customer support and the preparation of optimal technical offers;
- Identify and sell complete integrated systems and solutions, demonstrating a deep understanding of how various technical components work together to solve complex client needs.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:
- Minimum of 5 years in field sales or technical sales within the industrial automation, sensor technology sector, or related industries and products focus on B2B sales business model;
- Strong knowledge of process, control, and automation technology, with the ability to navigate complex technical architectures;
- Proven experience in technical sales, ideally within companies operating in related industrial domains;
- Deep understanding of the market landscape and key competitors;
- Completed engineering degree with a focus on electrical engineering, automation, or a comparable technical qualification;
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken;
- Confident demeanor combined with excellent communication skills, negotiation expertise and persuasiveness;
- Strong success orientation and initiative with a clear focus on achieving ambitious sales targets;
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to meet clients on-site.
