PLANT QUALITY MANAGER
Location: CLUJ-NAPOCA
Role: The Quality Manager will assist the organization to formulate quality standards and regulations for employees and for the product produced as well. The Quality Manager’s duties include developing and implementing quality control tests, inspecting products at various stages and writing reports documenting production issues. This position implies great attention to detail, the Quality Manager will follow the raw materials through to the final product while inspecting, assessing, and optimizing the journey all along the way.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate the Quality Department – 5 Quality Coordinators, provide support and feedback to all the team, +100 people – quality engineers, specialists and line inspectors;
- Collaborate with other departments such as R&D and PPD Engineering team;
- Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility;
- Responsible for implementing new types of measurement and testing equipment and new quality assurance processes according to company development plans and customer requirements (installation of new equipment, staff training, equipment validation and process improvement, etc.);
- Responsible for the performance of measurement and testing equipment (availability and capability of measurement and testing equipment based on specific company/customer requirements, long-term development programs of the capability and stability of measurement and testing equipment based on zero defect strategy;
- Responsible and authorized to stop production for quality issues according to internal escalation procedures;
- Communicate and negotiate permanently with customers and suppliers (knows the specific requirements of customers and industry) with the objective of 100% customer satisfaction (zero complaints/defects and solving complaints with minimal costs);
- Generate and manage the investment budget for testing and measuring equipment and machines in accordance with the company’s development plan;
- Development of quality management system documentation: Quality Manual, system procedures, work procedures, procedure record forms, quality plans;
- Control quality costs;
- Conducting and scheduling internal and external quality audits, handling customer audits when needed;
- Coordinate the department in order to analyze product, process and system non-conformities, customer complaints (root cause determination), determine corrective and preventive actions, implement and verify their effectiveness;
- Successfully resolve customer complaints to ensure customer satisfaction;
- Use of FMEA, SAP, standards and specifications;
- Implementation of error prevention measures for continuous quality improvement in collaboration with other departments;
- Developing and reviewing specifications for products or processes, manage quality management system documents;
- Perform statistical analysis;
- Development of means to motivate subordinate staff;
- Ensuring a climate of communication and encouragement of initiative that contributes to the achievement of set objectives;
- Carrying out regular performance appraisals of subordinates;
- Assist the organization’s executive management in defining and implementing the organization’s quality policy, objectives and strategies;
- Implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the quality management system according to management standards (ISO).
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required:
- + 5 years working experience in manufacturing companies (automotive, electronics – represents an advantage), QMS roles;
- + 3 years relevant strong experience in management roles, coordinating Quality Department in production environment;
- Technical Bachelor’s Degree;
- Ability to analyze data/statistical methods;
- Fluent in English, both orally and in writing;
- Strategic thinking and leadership skills (delegation, decision-making, motivation);
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Solution-oriented approach and people management and development;
- Good ERP Systems knowledge, MS Office package;
- Support encourage and develop team and take ownership for team;
- Good organizational and time-management skills;
- Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members.
