GROUP CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Location – Cluj-Napoca
Role: the Group Chief Financial Officer requires an appreciation of conformance and performance. Conformance includes providing stewardship of organizational assets and ensuring that the organization conducts itself in accordance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Performance includes helping the organization develop strategy, obtain resources, and deliver its strategic objectives sustainably. These Group CFO’s role need to be undertaken with integrity and without compromising one another.
Essential Functions:
- As part of the leadership of the organization, Group CFO is e expected to increase the support of strategic and operational decision making in a “business partnering” capacity in addition to fulfilling traditional stewardship responsibilities relating to governance, compliance and control, and business ethics;
- The Group CFO will take the forward-looking organizations, with finance and accounting function evolving from a transactional and cost efficiency focus to an increasingly value-adding strategic focus. The structure under CFO involves accounting department with a head of department, internal payroll services and external audit (Big 4) and legal services;
- Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team;
- Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team;
- Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting;
- Advising on long-term business and financial planning;
- Establishing and developing relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders;
- Monitor and direct strategic business plans;
- Ensure effective internal controls are in place and compliance with applicable regulatory legislation for financial and tax reporting;
- Manage financial controls and accounting procedures;
- Ensure full transparency over the financial performance of the company;
- Provide advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs;
- Effectively and clearly communicate potential risks in a timely manner;
- Propose action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained;
- Develop financial and tax strategies;
- Oversee all transactions and processing systems;
- Implement operational best practices, standardize processes in order to automate using ERP and additional tools;
- Provide strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance and new business opportunities;
- Support the CEO with the preparation of monthly and annual financial plans;
- Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements auditors and government agencies;
- Report risk issues to the audit committee of the Group;
- Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations;
- Support encourage and develop team and take ownership for team;
- Provide future view correlated with the company plans and investments, using all the reporting tools necessary.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:
- + 3 years experience in a Financial Leadership Role (CFO, Head of Finance etc) in + 20 million Euro company revenue;
- Strong background and knowledge of business C type roles in private companies;
- In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices;
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods;
- Deep analytical capability and ability to apply strategic thinking to financial reporting and analysis;
- Experience planning, implementing & managing effective organization-wide processes, and demonstrated success in influencing business decisions;
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization;
- Strong problem solving and ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis;
- Strong business and management report writing skills;
- Proficiency in English;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field;
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, ERP type tools and financial reporting software;
- Results-oriented, strategic thinker and planner, high level of integrity.
