Psihoselect performs the recruitment process for a partner company specialized in production for the following position:
GENERAL MANAGER OPERATIONS
Location: Cluj County
Role: Responsible to deliver customer requirements within market expected lead times with high quality product, produced in a safe and compliant work environment, where a culture of continuous improvement and project management is fostered and promoted within the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the fulfilment of all customer demand within market expected lead time, quality and appropriate total cost;
- Responsibility for the timely delivery of products sold and designed at best costs and with high and agreed upon quality;
- Promote a customer centric mindset to support the sales PV entities to ensure the Group EBIT margin targets are met;
- Lead, manage and develop employees on his subordination;
- Lead, coordinate and execute activities of the following departments: Operations (Production workshops, Maintenance, Industrialization, Programming), Supply Chain, Quality & EHS and Service;
- Further develop the organization with highly motivated, well-educated and committed employees and a strong network team spirit;
- Analyze, develop and realize future investment needs into the infrastructure, machinery and layout and define best in class future solutions in collaboration with the Global Operations teams;
- Be in close contact with the other operations GM in the organization to ensure an alignment for standards and best practice approach;
- Follow up and report KPI and action plans for all operations activities and projects;
- Align yearly budget with the GM and be responsible to respect and improve the Cost of Sales part of the budget, and gross margin;
- Comply with legal rules of Environment, Health and Safety;
- Participate, read and sign “CCM” and “ROI”;
- Lead continuous-improvement process in all departments by means of improving the organizational setup and workflows. Push for standardizing and/or optimizing in global sourcing. Ensure that all departments are utilized effectively and efficiently;
- Promote a professional project management culture;
- Develop and support the implementation of more efficient technical, organizational procedures;
- Promotes agility and flexibility in the organization and in the processes;
- Identify cost saving potential in local purchasing, machining, assembly and logistics;
- Establish cost-savings goals and milestones together with team and monitor progress until completion;
- Play key and unbiased role in “Make or Buy” analyses and decisions;
- Taking part in risk assessments during the sales process for offers.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:
- + 10 years of experience as an Executive in the Operations Management of a machinery manufacturing firm, with relevant experience and skills in establishing and reorganizing an operation unit;
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related fields;
- Solid management and leadership skills, with at least 10 years of experience in a management role leading and developing employees;
- Solid business and technical acumen, with customer-orientation and entrepreneurial spirit;
- A strong background in manufacturing and assembly firms, ideally small to medium-sized, with specific machining and engineering-to-order subsystems is highly desired;
- The ability to communicate fluently in Romanian and English verbally and in writing is essential;
- Ability to operate in a Global/Matrix organization;
- Experienced in modern methods of improving workflows and processes (Lean, Kaizen, Continuous improvement process, 5S, etc.);
- International experience or background working in a worldwide group matrix is required;
- Some experience in quality management and EHS highly desirable;
- Hands-on and assertive team-player, with results-oriented and cost-conscious management style;
- Focused on results and execution-oriented person;
- Ability to cope with stress and multiple tasks;
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with all levels;
- Strong ability to plan, organize, and prioritize;
- Good fit with medium-sized company culture;
- Independent and resolute decision-maker with understanding of corporate guidelines;
- Strong sense of accountability and of making and keeping commitments;
- Ability to keep the overall view while also the ability to do deep dives when needed;
- Some experience in the application of ERP – based methods needed, SAP – represents an advantage.
