OPERATIONAL MANAGER
RO & HU
Location – Cluj County
Role: Operational Manager is responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Department for projects in RO&HU. Ensure safe and efficient operations. Serve as a company representative on regulatory issues. The Operational Manager will enhance the operational procedure, systems, and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting and looks for opportunities to expand systems. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company’s policies and applicable laws.
Essential Functions:
- Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends for RO & HU;
- Develop and implement project execution strategy, ensure the implementation of quality control standards and cost control on project for on time completion;
- Execute daily operations of monitoring the work executed by the project managers team at site and follows interims and completion project reports for RO & HU;
- Supervise monitor and report Project progress throughout the project cycle to ensure on time completion. Lead Project Progress Meetings and coordinate with other departments;
- Manage Cash Flow Requirements for the Projects. Controlled expenditures within limitations of project budget;
- Monitor, verify and enforce specification compliance of materials at various stages of project. Manage and control Project Budget;
- Manage material and manpower requirements. Perform preparation for invoice process, variance and claims and client follow up and communication;
- Coordinate with customers, consultants, and sub-contractors;
- Work closely with GM and Sales Manager to set and implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation process of projects;
- Work hand-in-hand with the project team to create a mutual understanding of the project strategy based on the requirement of the job;
- Conduct in-depth reviews and analysis of all project or contract documents to be familiar with every detail and/or requirements;
- Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel and implement discipline standards for employees;
- Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions;
- Plan and review compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures;
- Apply rigor to key projects and tasks that require accurate and timely delivery and decision making. Set clear direction and performance related objectives;
- Provide space and latitude for project managers team to achieve their objectives, guide, challenge, and coach. Be willing and able to manage the consequences of performance, recognize good and exceptional performance, address poor performance;
- Live the continuous improvement philosophy, constantly challenge self and others in a realistic and positive way;
- Take responsibility for own learning and development and share experience. Try new approaches and encourage others to do the same, balance experimentation with risk;
- Inspect and observe work in progress to ensure that procedures followed, and materials used conformed to project specifications and quality standards;
- Establish and maintain effective Health and Safety system in place for the Projects strictly adhering to standards and specifications. Assure the company procedures and company policies are being always complied with Company Business Conduct and Ethics Policies;
- Work closely with the inventory team to perform analysis of inventory and ensure that the inventory is used effectively, purchasing the right equipment and materials, maintaining solid inventory data and reduce sub-rental expenses;
- Conducted site meetings Monitored progress throughout the project cycle;
- Implement or oversee environmental management or sustainability programs addressing issues such as recycling, conservation, and waste management;
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:
- + 5 years on-the-job experience in a similar role or in project manager construction field;
- Bachelor’s degree in civil construction, mechanical, or installation;
- Master’s degree in any management or engineering field will be an added advantage;
- Very good working knowledge with project management tools and budget and financial indicators;
- Good and effective communication skills;
- Good analytical and organizational abilities are of great importance;
- Possess good leadership ability, as well as ability to work as part of a team or even lead a project team when called upon;
- Ability to read and interpret specifications;
- Ability to be proactive and also to foresee events and react appropriately towards them;
- The ability to strategize in different situations is also relevant;
- Ability to work and carry out projects within a stipulated time frame or deadline;
- Fluent in English, Hungarian is an advantage;
- Good ERP Systems knowledge, MS Office package;
- Positive result driven and hands on attitude.
