Production Manager

Psihoselect performs the recruitment process for a partner company specialized in production for the following position:

PRODUCTION MANAGER

Location- Brașov

 

Role: In order to meet the needs and expectations of the client, the Production Manager guides the manufacturing function while staying within budget and output goals. Complete responsibility for ensuring that the standards for safety, customer quality, cost, and delivery are met from this position. The Production Manager implements and manages continuous improvement and modern lean manufacturing principles by identifying problems and advising adjustments to procedures, working methods, and training.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Plans and validates annual objectives;
  • Estimates costs and prepares budgets;
  • Determines the amount of resources needed (labour, raw materials, etc.);
  • Approves maintenance work, purchase of equipment;
  • Plans production capacity (equipment, personnel) according to customer requirements;
  • Supervises, plans and adopts measures to achieve departmental objectives (performance, quality, staff motivation, costs);
  • Analyses the previous day’s production results (e.g. in terms of efficiency and quality targets) and identifies necessary countermeasures;
  • Coordination and assurance of the entire production process in order to achieve the planned production, in accordance with the objectives, schedule and quality standards of the company;
  • Complies with company policy and quality management system requirements;
  • Respects and executes all the tasks and responsibilities provided in the working procedures and in the standards specific to the activities within the company;
  • Performs the works and orders assigned temporarily or by delegation by the direct superior;
  • Has the obligation to be actively involved in the process of continuous improvement.
  • Complies with all the provisions of the JD, IR, safety, health at work and environmental norms, according to the regulations in force from the general introductory training for labor protection and all the legal provisions;
  • Coordinates directly productive staff;
  • Participates in employee selection and recruitment, employee administration and interviews;
  • Organises staff meetings and ensures the exchange of information;
  • Manages the relationship with other departments to implement technical changes, work instructions and process flows;
  • Participates in the development and implementation of reporting systems and quality system;
  • Develops means of motivating subordinate staff;
  • Ensures a climate of communication and encouragement of initiative that contributes to the achievement of set objectives;
  • Is responsible for ensuring that the company’s activities comply with the laws in force and the laws applicable to the processes carried out, such as working and environmental conditions, etc;
  • Establishes the responsibilities of new employees and is responsible for their systematic training in/from the production department;
  • Carries out regular performance appraisals of subordinates;
  • Draws up forecasts of production area activity, supports good cooperation with all company departments;
  • Contributes to the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of quality, environmental, etc. management systems;
  • Is responsible for strengthening the operational team by achieving the proposed objectives;
  • Identifies recruitment needs, participates in the selection, integration and development of the company’s management;
  • Participates in programmes to update the job descriptions of subordinate employees;
  • Negotiates, reconciles conflict situations arising in interpersonal relationships;
  • Approves the planning of rest leave for subordinate employees;
  • Ensures that subordinate staff comply with internal rules;
  • Establishes measures to make the work of subordinate staff more efficient.

 

 

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:

  •  Minimum 3 years experience in a management position;
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience, ideally with experience in the Automotive equipment supply industry;
  • University degree in technical field;
  • Fluency in English;
  • Knowledge of production management; knowledge of technological flow, operation of machinery and equipment, product quality control, types of materials used and their physio-chemical characteristics;
  • Technical knowledge, knowledge of LEAN principles and methods;
  • Strategic thinking and leadership skills (delegation, decision making, motivation);
  • Very good communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills;
  • Knowledge of performance appraisal and budgeting concepts;
  • Experience in reporting key production indicators;
  • Knowledge of management;
  • Organisational skills;
  • Emotional balance;
  • Ability to evaluate and make decisions;
  • Ability to work with people;
  • Ease, clarity and consistency of expression;
  • Organisational/planning skills;
  • Result-oriented and focused on clear objectives;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, ERP- SAP;
  • Knowledge of and compliance with the Departmental Labour Protection and P.S.I. and Workplace Specific Labour Protection Regulations as well as the rules for the use of PSI and PM equipment.
