SENIOR GROUP CONTROLLER

Location – BUCHAREST

Role: The Senior Group Controller will oversee financial management functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and the implementation of effective financial strategies to support the business objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial principles. The Senior Group Controller is an active role in business, a key person for a data driven management decisions.

Essential Functions:

Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements. Ensure timely submission of all financial reports;
Lead the budgeting and financial forecasting processes, providing detailed analysis and projections to support strategic decision-making;
Develop and maintain internal control systems to manage financial risks;
Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures across all departments;
Monitor cash flow closely, ensuring efficient management of funds and liquidity;
Develop strategies to optimize cash flow and working capital;
Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities;
Provide strategic recommendations to enhance profitability and financial performance;
Serve as a key financial advisor to senior management, providing insights and recommendations;
Prepare quarterly supervisory board reports and analysis.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:

+ 7 years of relevant working experience in Financial Management and Accounting, with at least 3 years in a Senior role;
Experience in different fields such as: FMCG, Pharma, Retail, Ecommerce, Logistics Services, Production or similar;
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) is an advantage;
Strong understanding of IFRS or other financial reporting standards;
Good understanding of data driven management companies – decisions based on data;
Expertise in tax planning, compliance, and auditing practices;
Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting;
Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
Fluent in English;
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills;
High standards of excellence and integrity;
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
